Eduardo Macedo de Melo

Eduardo has a degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2015) with a sandwich period at the University of York (UK) where he completed his master's degree in Green Chemistry (Science without Borders/CAPES scholarship). In 2019 he completed his PhD in Green Chemistry in the area of agroindustrial residues valorization, also at the University of York (Science without Borders/CNPq scholarship). From 2019 to 2022 he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the area of enzyme activity regulation (biocatalysis) at the Research Center Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany. He is an ad hoc reviewer for the journals Current Research in Green and Sustainable Chemistry, and Brazilian Journal of Food Technology. He has extensive experience in the areas of green chemistry and biocatalysis with an emphasis on: valorization of agro-industrial residues using clean extraction technologies, renewable materials, biomaterials, nanotechnology and regulation of enzymatic activity.

Possui graduação em Química pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2015) com período sanduíche na University of York (Reino Unido) onde completou o curso de mestrado em Química Verde (bolsista Ciência sem Fronteiras/CAPES). Em 2019 completou seu doutorado em Química Verde na área de valorização de resíduos agroindustriais, também na University of York (bolsista Ciência sem Fronteiras/CNPq). De 2019 a 2022 trabalhou como pós-doutor na área de regulação de atividade enzimática (biocatálise) no Centro de Pesquisa Forschungszentrum Jülich, Alemanha. É revisor ad hoc das revistas Current Research in Green and Sustainable Chemistry e Brazilian Journal of Food Technology. Tem vasta experiência nas áreas de química verde e biocatálise com ênfase em: valorização de resíduos agroindustriais utilizando tecnologias limpas de extração, materiais renováveis, biomateriais, nanotecnologia e regulação de atividade enzimática.
