Adriana Bonomo holds a degree in Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1986), a Master's degree in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1989) and a PhD in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1994) She did postdoctoral work at the NIH (1990-1994) under Polly Matzinger and Ethan Shevach supervision. She was an associate professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1996-2015), and is currently a specialist researcher at the IOC/Fiocruz, Head of the Thymus Research Laboratory (IOC/FIOCRUZ), Coordinator of GIISER-Brasil at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Program Coordinator Fio-Cancer and Fio-Mucosa at FIOCRUZ. He was vice president of the Brazilian Society of Immunology from 2005-2007 when she participated in the organization of the XIII World Congress of Immunology. She was coordinator of PIBIC -INCA and responsible for the Training Program for Human Resources in Research also at INCA between 2005 and 2009. She headed the Division of Experimental Medicine between 2008-2009. She is a reviewer for the BJMR, Journal of Immunology, Journal of Leukocyte Biology, J. Immunol, Cell Transplantation, PLOS one and PLOS ND, and the Frontiers group. Regional Editor for Latin America of Immunotherapy Advances, a journal from the British Society of Immunology. she has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Immunology, with emphasis on Cellular Immunology, working mainly on the following topics: transplantation of hematopoietic cells, T cell, tumor, osteoimmunology and immunoregulation.

Foi vice presidente da Sociedade Brasileira de Imunologia de 2005-2007 quando participou da organização do XIII Congresso Mundial de Imunologia. Foi coordenadora do PIBIC -INCA e responsável pelo Programa de formação de Recursos humanos em Pesquisa também no INCA entre 2005 e 2009. Chefiou a Divisão de Medicina Experimental entre 2008-2009. È revisora dos BJMR, Journal of Immunology, Journal of Leukocyte Biology,J. Immunol, Cell Transplantation, PLOS one e PLOS ND, e do grupo Frontiers. Editora Regional para América Latina do Immunotherapy Advances, revista da sociedade inglesa de imunologia. Tem experiência na área de Imunologia, com ênfase em Imunologia Celular, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: transplante de céluas hematopoiéticas, celula T, tumor, osteoimunologia e imunorregulação.
