Rogerio Ferraraz

Rogério Ferraraz completed his PhD in Communication and Semiotics at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, in 2003, with the dissertation The bordering cinema by David Lynch, under the guidance of Professor Lúcia Nagib. He was a visiting scholar at UCLA (University of California Los Angeles) in 2002, with a sandwich doctoral scholarship from CAPES, under the supervision of Professor Randal Johnson. He was the editorial secretary of the magazine Imagens (Unicamp) and assistant editor of the magazine Galáxia (PUC / SP). Since 2006, he has been a professor in the Postgraduate Program in Communication at Universidade Anhembi Morumbi / SP, of which he was coordinator between February 2010 and January 2014. Author of scientific articles, books and book chapters, he works in the areas of Communication and Arts, with an emphasis on Cinema and Television. He was leader of the Research Group Forms and Images in Contemporary Communication (UAM / CNPq), which studied, among other subjects, Cinema de Bordas, is vice-leader of the Research Group Innovations and Disruptions in Television Fiction (UAM / CNPq), member of the network of researchers OBITEL - Brazil, and leader of the Research Group Studies of Horror and the Unusual in Communication (UAM / CNPq). He was Secretary-General of COMPÓS (Board of Directors 2015-2017), in addition to being a member of the Association Council between 2010 and 2014. At SOCINE, he is part of the Deliberative Council (biennium 2019-2021), the same role that he already held between 2007 and 2011 having also been a member of the Fiscal Council between 2013 and 2015. Currently, he develops the research Horror in contemporary television fiction, at Universidade Anhembi Morumbi / SP.

Rogério Ferraraz concluiu o doutorado em Comunicação e Semiótica pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, em 2003, com a tese O cinema limítrofe de David Lynch, sob a orientação da Profa. Dra. Lúcia Nagib. Foi pesquisador visitante na UCLA Los Angeles, em 2002, com bolsa de doutorado-sanduíche da CAPES, sob a supervisão do Prof. Dr. Randal Johnson. Foi secretário de redação da revista Imagens (Unicamp) e editor assistente da revista Galáxia (PUC/SP). Desde 2006, é docente permanente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação da Universidade Anhembi Morumbi/SP, do qual foi coordenador entre fevereiro de 2010 e janeiro de 2014. Autor de artigos científicos, livros e capítulos de livros, atua nas áreas de Comunicação e Artes, com ênfase em Cinema e Televisão. Foi líder do Grupo de Pesquisa Formas e Imagens na Comunicação Contemporânea (UAM/CNPq), que estudou, entre outros assuntos, o Cinema de Bordas, é vice-líder do Grupo de Pesquisa Inovações e Rupturas na Ficção Televisiva (UAM/CNPq), integrante da rede de pesquisadores OBITEL - Brasil, e líder do Grupo de Pesquisa Estudos do Horror e do Insólito na Comunicação (UAM/CNPq). Foi Secretário-Geral da COMPÓS (Diretoria 2015-2017), além de integrar o Conselho da Associação entre 2010 e 2014. Na SOCINE, fez parte do Conselho Deliberativo no biênio 2019-2021, mesma função que exerceu entre 2007 e 2011, tendo integrado também o Conselho Fiscal entre 2013 e 2015. Desenvolve, no momento, a pesquisa Horror na ficção televisiva contemporânea, junto à Universidade Anhembi Morumbi/SP, com bolsa do Instituto Ânima.
