Geraldo Figueiredo da Silveira Filho

Geraldo Silveira obteve o grau de Doutor em visão computacional e controle de robôs pela École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris (MINES ParisTech), França, 2008, com trabalhos desenvolvidos no Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique (INRIA) Sophia Antipolis; recebeu o grau de Mestre em engenharia elétrica pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), 2002, com trabalhos desenvolvidos no Centro de Tecnologia da Informação Renato Archer (CTI); e o título de Engenheiro Elétrico pela Universidade Federal do RN (UFRN), 2000. Atualmente, é pesquisador sênior e coordenador do grupo de pesquisa VISIOTEC no CTI; é professor orientador na pós-graduação da Faculdade de Engenharia Mecânica da UNICAMP; e também é professor visitante na Technische Universität Wien, Viena, Áustria. Foi professor convidado do programa de pós-graduação europeu Erasmus Mundus in Vision and Robotics pela Université de Bourgogne, França, Universitat de Girona, Espanha, e Heriot-Watt University, Reino Unido. Durante a graduação, também estudou e estagiou nos EUA e na Alemanha. Dr. Silveira recebeu importantes prêmios científicos, tais como em evento científico organizado pela Sociedade Brasileira de Automática, e em evento patrocinado pela SIEMENS; e contribuiu para a abertura de empresas de alta tecnologia, inclusive no exterior. Seus atuais interesses de pesquisa incluem visão computacional, visão robótica, controle baseado em visão e robótica. Nessas áreas, ele é autor e revisor de diversos periódicos e congressos nacionais e internacionais. Segundo o Google Scholar, seus trabalhos científicos possuem índice h igual a 16, com quase 1.000 citações.

Geraldo Silveira received the Ph.D. degree in computer vision and robot control from the École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris (MINES ParisTech)/INRIA Sophia Antipolis, France, in 2008; the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP)/CTI Renato Archer in 2002; and the B.Sc. (Hons) degree in electrical engineering from the Federal University of RN (UFRN) in 2000. In 2002, he joined the Center for Information Technology Renato Archer (CTI), Division of Robotics and Computer Vision (DRVC), where is currently a permanent Senior Research Scientist, and leads the VISIOTEC research group. He has also been an Affiliated Research Professor at UNICAMP since 2014. Since 2018 he has been a Visiting Professor at Technische Universität Wien, Vienna, Austria. He was appointed in 2011 as Invited Professor of the european Erasmus Mundus Vision and Robotics Masters program. During his undergraduate years, he had also studied and worked in USA and Germany. Dr. Silveira has received important awards, such as in a scientific event organized by the Brazilian Society of Automatics, and in an event endowed by SIEMENS. His scientific contributions have also contributed to start up high-tech companies, including internationally. His current research interests include computer vision, robot vision, vision-based control, and robotics. In these fields, he is author and reviewer of various journals and international conferences. According to Google Scholar, he has a h-index of 16 with nearly 1,000 citations.
