Stefania Eugenia Francesca Margherita Barichello

Doctoral Candidate at the School of Advanced Study, University of London. Her research focuses on refugee protection and responsibility-sharing in Latin America, primarily the origins, development and implementation of the Mexico Plan of Action. Master?s degree in Human Rights and Democratisation, awarded by the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation (which is composed of 41 Universities)
, writing a thesis entitled "Towards a Common European Asylum System: Refugee Protection in the EU and the Need for a More Comprehensive Burden-Sharing Approach?, supervised by Prof. Dr. Karin Ahman. The Master?s was divided into 2 phases, the first at EIUC (Venice, Italy) and the second at Uppsala University (Uppsala, Sweden), and included a trip to Kosovo. Master?s Degree in ?Comparative Study of Mercosur and the European Union: Paths for Economic, Social, Cultural and Institutional Integration?, with a scholarship awarded by the local government of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, presenting a thesis entitled ?International Refugee Law in Latin America and the European Union: Effects and Challenges of Regional Initiatives of Refugee Protection?, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bruno Tellia. The Master?s was divided into the 2 phases of intensive courses at the University of Udine (Udine, Italy) and at the Cuyo National University (Mendoza, Argentina) and included seminars and internships at either public or private bodies or firms.Master's degree in Latin American Integration at the Federal University of Santa Maria (Brazil), writing a thesis entitled "International Refugee Law in Latin America: The Mexico Plan of Action and Hannah Arendt?s Prophecy", under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Luiz Ernani Bonesso de Araujo. Within this Master?s programme, has been awarded a scholarship by The Brazilian Coordination of High-Level Personnel Training (CAPES) and has worked as a graduate lecturer for Prof. Dr. Ricardo Seitenfus on the course of International Public Law and for Prof. Dr. Luiz Ernani Bonesso de Araujo on the course of Environmental Law. Studied Law at the Centro Universitário Franciscano (Santa Maria, Brazil), finishing in August 2005 with a thesis entitled ?Environmental Taxation: Protecting The Environment Through Extra-Fiscal Taxes?, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Luiz Ernani Bonesso de Araujo. During this period, participated in several activities and projects such as being an undergraduate teaching assistant (UTA) of Philosophy of Law, Methodology, Commercial Law and at the Laboratory of Legal Research.
Mestre em Human Rights and Democratisation pela Uppsala University - Suécia e pelo European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation - Italy (2011). Mestre em Comparative Study of Mercosur and the EU pela Università Degli Studi di Udine - Itália (2009). Mestre em Integração Latino-americana pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (2009), quando foi bolsista CAPES. Possui graduação em Direito pelo Centro Universitário Franciscano (2005), aperfeiçoamento em "Análisis Económico del Derecho" pela Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires, Argentina(2006) e especialização em Direito Empresarial pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul(2006). Publicou 14 artigos em periódicos, 4 capítulos de livros e 35 trabalhos em anais de eventos. Possui 18 itens de apresentações de trabalhos e 7 itens de organização de eventos. Entre 2003 e 2005 participou de 4 projetos de pesquisa. Tem experiência na área de Direito, com ênfase em Direito Internacional Público, Direito Internacional dos Refugiados, Relações Internacionais, Direito Empresarial e Ambiental.
