André Freire Azevedo

Doutorando em Direito, Estado e Constituição na Universidade de Brasília (UnB), sob a orientação do Prof. Dr. Cristiano Otavio Paixão Araujo Pinto, onde desenvolve pesquisa nas áreas de História Constitucional e Direito Constitucional Comparado e é membro do grupo de pesquisa "Percursos, narrativas, fragmentos: história do direito e do constitucionalismo". Professor Assistente do Instituto de Ciências da Sociedade da Universidade Federal do Oeste do Pará (UFOPA) desde 2017, na área de Direito Público, com especial atuação nas áreas de Direito Constitucional, Direitos Humanos, Teoria do Direito e Direito Socioambiental. Na UFOPA, coordenou o Núcleo de Assessoria Jurídica Universitária Popular (NAJUP Cabano) e foi coordenador do Núcleo de Prática Jurídica (NPJ). Mestre em Direito Constitucional e Teoria da Constituição pela UFMG (pesquisador bolsista CAPES) com período sanduíche de pesquisa realizado na Universidad de la República - Uruguay (bolsas da Asociación de Universidades Grupo Montevideo e da Pró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação da UFMG) (2014-2016). Especialista em Direito Público (2014). Bacharel em Direito pela UFMG (2013). Tem experiência na área de Direito, com ênfase em Direito Constitucional, História Constitucional, Direito Constitucional Comparado, Direitos Humanos e Teoria do Direito. Advogado.

PhD candidate in Law, State, and Constitution at the University of Brasília (UnB), under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Cristiano Otavio Paixão Araujo Pinto, conducting research in the areas of Constitutional History and Comparative Constitutional Law, and a member of the research group "Paths, Narratives, Fragments: History of Law and Constitutionalism." Assistant Professor at the Institute of Social Sciences at the Federal University of Western Pará (UFOPA) since 2017, specializing in Public Law, with a particular focus on Constitutional Law, Human Rights, Legal Theory, and Socioenvironmental Law. At UFOPA, he has founded and coordinated the Popular Legal Assistance Clinic (NAJUP/UFOPA) which furnishes legal counsel to social movements and representative associations of indigenous, quilombola, and traditional peoples communities and served as the coordinator of the Legal Practice Center (NPJ). He holds a Master's degree in Constitutional Law and Constitutional Theory from UFMG (a CAPES scholarship researcher) with a research period carried out at the Universidad de la República - Uruguay (scholarships from the Association of Universities Grupo Montevideo and UFMG) (2014-2016). He is also a specialist in Public Law (2014) and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Law from UFMG (2013). His expertise lies in the field of Law, with a focus on Constitutional Law, Constitutional History, Comparative Constitutional Law, Human Rights, and Legal Theory. Additionally, he practices as a lawyer.
