Luciano Mendes de Jesus

Graduated in Performing Arts from the State University of Campinas - UNICAMP (2007) and technical in popular percussion at the School of Music of the State of São Paulo - EMESP (2012). Worked on the Open Program Team of the Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards (Pontedera / Italy, 2012 to 2015). Master in Music (2016) by the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (ECA-USP), conducting research on the relationship between sound, listening and experience in the performing arts, through the study of the artistic path of Jerzy Grotowski and the investigations and creations of the Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards. He is currently a PhD in Performing Arts at ECA - USP, investigating the presence of African elements in the contemporary scene from the study of the collaboration between Maud Robart / Jerzy Grotowski and Sotigui Koyaté / Peter Brook, as well as Brazilian theater groups and his own creative work. Since 2016 he has developed the artistic-pedagogical project Garimpar in Minas Negras Cantos de Diamante, exploring the transcreative potentials around the vissungos (afro-mineiros songs with Bantu origin), through their historicities, sociopolitical and mythopoetic. He also studies the notions of actor-sounder and spectator-listener in the field of theater and sound arts. He has experience in the Arts area, with emphasis on Theatrical Interpretation, Scenic Music and Popular Percussion. Composes soundtracks for theater and dance. He develops actions and researches in Hybrid Languages ​​and Theater and Musical Pedagogy.

Possui graduação em Artes Cênicas pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas - UNICAMP (2007) e formação técnica em percussão popular na Escola de Música do Estado de São Paulo - EMESP (2012). Atuou na equipe Open Program do Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards (Pontedera/Itália) entre 2012 e 2015. Mestre em Música (2016) pela Escola de Comunicações e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo (ECA-USP), realizando pesquisas sobre a relação entre som, escuta e experiência nas artes performativas, através do estudo do percurso artístico de Jerzy Grotowski e das investigações e criações do Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards. Atualmente é doutorando em Artes Cênicas na ECA - USP, investigando a noção de políticas de amizade, elementos de africanidade, poéticas diaspóricas expandidas e construção de identidade afrodescendente em contextos artísticos interculturais e pluriétnicos, tendo por base a pesquisa criativa de Jerzy Grotowski e das contribuições de sujeitos negros e epistemes africano-diaspóricas para esta obra. Desenvolve desde 2016 o projeto artístico-pedagógico Garimpar em Minas Negras Cantos de Diamante, explorando os potenciais transcriativos em torno dos vissungos (cantos afro-mineiros de origem Bantu), através de suas historicidades, sociopolíticas e mitopoéticas. Também estuda as noções de ator-sonante e espectador-ouvinte no campo teatral e nas artes sonoras. Tem experiência na área de Artes, com ênfase em interpretação e direção teatral, música cênica e percussão popular. Compõe trilhas sonoras para teatro e dança. Desenvolve ações e pesquisas em Linguagens Híbridas e Pedagogia Teatral e Musical.
