has a major in English-Portuguese (UFPB), a master's degree in Literature (UFSC), a Doctorate in Literature (PUC-Minas) and a Post-Doctoral Stay at the Institute of Popular Music, University of Liverpool, UK, with a scholarship from the CAPES Foundation. He is an Associate II Professor at the School of Science and Technology of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (ECT-UFRN), where he teaches reading and writing practices in English and in Portuguese, and where he carries out research projects in the field of Popular Music Studies. Since 2018 he has worked in collaboration with Dr. Peter Low (University of Canterbury, New Zealand) on singable translations of Noel Rosa's songs into English. Meller is the author os Iron Maiden: a journey through History (2018) and Poets or Songsters? A discussion on popular music and literary poetry (2015).
tem graduação em Letras (UFPB), Mestrado em Literatura (UFSC), Doutorado em Letras - Literaturas de Língua Portuguesa (PUC-Minas) e Estágio Pós-Doutoral no Institute of Popular Music - University of Liverpool, Reino Unido, com bolsa CAPES. É Professor Associado III na Escola de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (ECT-UFRN), onde leciona Práticas de Leitura e Escrita em Português e em Inglês, e onde coordena projetos de pesquisa sobre Estudos de Música Popular. Entre 2018 e 2023, trabalhou com o Prof. Dr. Peter Low (University of Canterbury, Nova Zelândia) nas traduções cantáveis de aproximadamente 50 canções de Noel Rosa. O resultado dessa parceria se traduzirá no livro Noel Rosa - Um Brasileiro Universal, ora em fase de editoração. Meller é também autor dos livros Poetas ou Cancionistas? Uma discussão sobre música popular e poesia literária (2015) e Iron Maiden: Uma Jornada através da História (2018), cuja segunda edição, revista e ampliada, está em fase de preparação.
