Luisa Stella de Oliveira Coutinho Silva is a researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory and a qualified lawyer in Portugal and Brazil. She graduated in Law and Psychology, and received her MSc and PhD in Legal History from the Institute of History of Law and Political Thought at the University of Lisbon. She works with Women?s legal History and the Portuguese Empire and her current research project investigates the conversion of Japanese women between 1540s and 1630 from a global legal history perspective.

É licenciada em Direito e Psicologia, mestre e doutora em História do Direito pelo Instituto de História do Direito e do Pensamento Político da Universidade de Lisboa. Trabalha com História do Direito das Mulheres e o Império Português e seu atual projeto de pesquisa investiga a conversão de mulheres japonesas entre 1540 e 1630 a partir de uma perspectiva de história do direito global.
