Doutor em Educação pela PUC Minas. Possuo Graduação em Educação Física (Bacharelado e Licenciatura) pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa. Membro pesquisador do GEPPDOC (Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas sobre a Profissão Docente) e do Núcleo de Pesquisa Socials, ambos DGP/CNPq. Atuo há mais de 20 anos na Educação Básica no Ensino Fundamental II e Ensino Médio. Tenho experiência em Educação principalmente com os temas: Educação Física Escolar e Profissionalidade Docente. Tema de interesse em pesquisas: Adolescências e Interações Sociais (Agência x Estrutura). Membro associado da International Sociological Association (ISA). Editor convidado da revista Sociological Studies of Children and Youth (SSCY) Vol. 31, tema: The social construction of adolescence in contemporary. Estou professor adjunto no Centro Universitário UNA nos cursos de Educação Física, Pedagogia e Psicologia.
