Terence Dorneles Trennepohl

Pos-Doutor (Senior Fellow) na Universidade de Harvard (2009/2011), Doutor (2008) e Mestre (2005) em Direito pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco - UFPE e Graduado em Direito pela Universidade Federal de Alagoas (1999). Advogado em São Paulo. Entre 2010 e 2013 foi advogado em Dewey&LeBoeuf e em Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, ambos em Nova York. Foi Chefe de Gabinete no Tribunal Regional Federal da 5ª Região de 2001 a 2008, e também Professor de Direito Ambiental e Tributário da Graduação da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (de 2005 a 2007). Foi Professor de diversos cursos de pós-graduação, incluindo a Rede LFG (Luis Flávio Gomes) de Ensino e a Rede Damásio.

Terence Trennepohl has broad experience in environmental and infrastructure law. He is the Head of Environmental Law Practice at Campos Mello Advogados, in Sao Paulo. He advises Brazilian and foreign clients in matters related to energy, environmental law, agribusiness and foreign investments. Since 2000, Trennepohl has been advising clients in environment and energy deals, particularly international investments in the energy industry. He spent the past three years (2010-2013) working in New York at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP and Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP, dealing with matters related to Latin America, focused in energy investments (oil and gas, solar, wind and hydro) in Brazil. In 2009-2010, Mr. Trennepohl was a Senior Fellow at the Harvard Electricity Policy Group (HEPG). He has long-standing experience in environmental issues, infrastructure projects and investments in Brazil. Since his post-doctorate at Harvard University, he closely follows the U.S policies and regulations on clean energy and renewable fuels, aiming to identify opportunities for investments in Brazil. For the past ten years, Mr. Trennepohl has advised several companies on how to meet the environmental requirements imposed by Brazilian laws. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and has published books and articles on energy, environment, economic development, renewable fuels, climate policy, infrastructure, and sustainable development. He speaks Portuguese, English and French.
