Rejane Caetano Augusto Cantoni

Rejane Cantoni (São Paulo) é artista. Trabalha com instalações interativas, site-specific, em grande escala. Convidada por instituições a criar obras em várias cidades em todo o mundo, desenvolve instalações inovadoras que oferecem mediações viscerais sobre como os indivíduos percebem e se comunicam nos espaços que habitam. Expôs em inúmeras instituições de arte em todo o mundo: Ars Electronica, The Creators Project, Mois Multi (Québec), Trienal Internacional de New Media Art 2014 (Pequim), Ruhrtriennale 2014 (Duisberg), Ásia Cultural Center / ACC (Gwangju), WONDERSPACES (San Diego, Scottsdale), WAVELENGHT (Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu). Em 2014, recebeu o prêmio Itaú Cultural por VOZ, em 2010 os prêmios VIDA 13.2 por FALA e menção especial do Prix Ars Electronica para TÚNEL. É pós-doutora em Artes pela Universidade de São Paulo, doutora e mestre em Comunicação e Semiótica pela Universidade Católica de São Paulo e mestre do Programa de Estudos Superiores das Tecnologias da Informação da Universidade de Genebra. Antes de se tornar artista independente, foi vice diretora de faculdade e professora da Faculdade de Matemática, Física e Tecnologia da Universidade Católica de São Paulo.

Rejane Cantoni is a São Paulo based artist. She studied communication, semiotics, visualization of information systems and kinematic interfaces in both São Paulo, Brazil and Geneva, Switzerland. Since 1987 she has researched and developed immersive installations using devices and technology for the acquisition and manipulation of data in both natural and automated environments. She exhibited in numerous art institutions worldwide including Ars Electronica (Linz, Berlin, Mexico City), The Creators Project (New York, São Paulo), ZKM | Media Museum (Kalruhe), Glow and STRP festivals (Eindhoven), Moscow biennale of contemporary art, Espacio Fundación Telefônica (Buenos Aires), Copenhagen Contemporary Art Festival (Copenhagen), FILE - International Festival of Electronic Language (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Porto Alegre), Synthetic Times - Media Art China 2008 (Beijing), Zeebrastraat (Ghent), Mois Multi (Québec), Thingworld - International Triennial of New Media Art 2014 (Beijing), Ruhrtriennale 2014 (Duisburg), Asia Culture Center/ACC (Gwangju), Wonderspaces (San Diego, Scottsdale), Wavelength (Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing). She is a Board member of Interplanetary Initiative at Arizona State University. She holds two Post-Ph.D's in Arts from the University of São Paulo, a Ph.D and Masters in Communications and Semiotics from the Catholic University of São Paulo and a Masters from the Program of Études Supérieures des Systèmes d'Information from Geneva University. Before shifting to a full time artist, she was Assistant Dean and Professor at the Mathematics, Physics and Technology Center at Catholic University of São Paulo. She is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, English and French.
