Leandro Silveira de Araujo

I am a professor at the Institute of Language, Literature and Linguistics of the Federal University of Uberlândia/Brazil. I hold both a doctoral and a master?s degree in linguistics and Portuguese from the São Paulo State University (UNESP), an institution where I have also graduated in modern languages (Portuguese and Spanish). I had a CAPES/PDSE scholarship at the Department of Spanish Philology/Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). Furthermore, I am a Member of the Association of Spanish Teachers of Minas Gerais (APEMG), the Brazilian Association of Hispanist (ABH) and the Association of Linguistics and Philology of Latin America (ALFAL). I am Leader of the "Linguistic Norma Research Group"(NormaLi/CNPq/UFU). I have worked as a visiting researcher at Universidad de Cuyo (Mendoza / Argentina), Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain), Universidad de Córdoba (Spain) and Universidad de Salamanca (Spain). I have extensive experience in linguistics, with an emphasis on Sociolinguistics, Dialectology, and Historiography of Linguistics. Likewise, I work mainly in research associated with the following topics: descriptive studies of Spanish, linguistic variation and change, history of Spanish and Romance languages, historiography of Romance languages, grammatization.

Professor Adjunto IV do Instituto e Letras e Linguística (ILEEL) da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU), credenciado ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estudos da Linguagem (PPGEL/UFU) e Mestrado Profissional em Letras (PROFLETRAS/UFU). Doutor e mestre em Linguística e Língua Portuguesa pela Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP- Araraquara), instituição em que também se licenciou e bacharelou em Letras (Português e Espanhol). Foi bolsista CAPES/PDSE no 'Depto de Filología Española' da Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). Membro da Associação de Professores de Espanhol de Minas Gerais (APEMG), da Associação Brasileira de Hispanistas (ABH) e da Associação de Linguística e Filologia da América Latina (ALFAL). Líder do "Núcleo de Estudos da Norma Linguística" - NormaLi (CNPq/UFU). Atuou como pesquisador visitantes na Universidad de Cuyo (Mendoza/Argentina), Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Espanha), Universidad de Córdoba (Espanha) e Universidad de Salamanca (Espanha). Tem experiência na área de Linguística, com ênfase em Sociolinguística, Dialetologia e Linguística Histórica. Atua principalmente em pesquisa associada aos seguintes temas: estudos descritivos do espanhol, variação e mudança linguísticas, história do espanhol e das línguas românicas, historiografia das línguas românicas, gramaticografia.
