Dr Beatriz ? born on July 12, 1967, Porto Murtinho, MS, Brazil ? received his Bachelor?s degree in Technological Chemistry by the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (1995) and his Degree of Doctor of Science (DSc), field of Organic Chemistry from University of São Paulo ? USP (2001). He was a Post-Doctoral fellow (FAPESP) at University of São Paulo (2001- 2002). He was Lecturer in Organic Chemistry at the Faculty Estacio de Sá (Campo Grande, MS, Brazil) from 2002 to 2006. In 2006 he was appointed Associate Professor of the Institute of Chemistry of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (Campo Grande, MS, Brazil). He received a post-doctoral fellowship from Fundación Carolina (Spain) to work in the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain (2009-2010). He was a visiting professor in the group of Professor E. J. Corey (Nobel Laureate 1990) at Harvard University (Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology) from Aug/2018 to Aug/2019. Currently, working as a Full Professor at Institute of Chemistry of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul and research advisor in the Master and Doctoral degree programs in Chemistry, Pharmacy and Biotechnology. Experienced in organic synthesis, mainly in the following subjects:
- Synthesis and evaluation of new antimicrobials.
- Synthesis of natural products.
- Stereoselective synthesis.
- Green and Sustainable Chemistry
- Fine Chemistry
He has a Productivity Research Fellow from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) since 2012, currently at level 2. He is the founder and inaugural editor-in-chief of journal Orbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry (www.orbital.ufms.br). Awarded as Innovative Researcher of Mato Grosso do Sul by the FUNDECT/2021 Award.
Nasceu em Porto Murtinho-MS. Formado em Química Tecnológica pela Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul (1995). Doutor em Ciências (Química) pela Universidade de São Paulo - USP/RP (2001) sob orientação do Prof. Mauricio G. Constantino. Fez estágios pós-doc com bolsa da FAPESP no Laboratório de Síntese Orgânica da FFCLRP-USP (2001-2002) e com bolsa da Fundación Carolina na Facultade de Química da Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, Espanha, no grupo de pesquisa do Prof. Ricardo Riguera (2009-2010). Foi professor de Química Orgânica e Síntese de Fármacos da Faculdade Estácio de Sá de Campo Grande-MS (2002-2006). Foi professor visitante (visiting scholar) no Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Harvard University, no grupo de pesquisa do Professor E. J. Corey - Prêmio Nobel 1990 - (2018-2019). Desde 06/2006 é Professor da Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul (Professor Titular desde 08/2022) e bolsista de Produtividade em Pesquisa do CNPq (desde 03/2012). Orienta alunos de iniciação científica, mestrado e doutorado. Tem experiência na área de Síntese Orgânica, com interesse nos seguintes temas: 1) Síntese de novos compostos antimicrobianos. 2) Síntese de produtos naturais. 3) Síntese estereosseletiva. 4) Química Fina. Credenciado nos programas de Pós-Graduação em Química (UFMS), Ciências Farmacêuticas (UFMS) e Biotecnologia (UFMS). Foi membro Suplente do Conselho Fiscal da Sociedade Brasileira de Química (2016-2018). É o fundador e Editor-Chefe da revista Orbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry (www.orbital.ufms.br). Recebeu o Prêmio Fundect Pesquisador Sul-mato-grossense - Primeiro lugar na categoria Pesquisador Inovador 2021 - Inovação para o Setor Industrial.
