Doutora em Didática da Matematica - Université Joseph Fourier - Grenoble I (2001), mestrado em Educação Matemática pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (1993), Graduada em Licenciatura Plena em Matematica pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (1979), Bacharel em Matemática pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (1978). Professora assistente doutora da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, no programa de Estudos Pós-graduados em Educação Matemática e Departamento de Matemática. Membro (coordenadora) do grupo de pesquisa Pea-Mat, o qual pesquisa temas em diversos campos da Matemática, e referenciais teóricos em sua maior parte ligados à didática francesa, tanto no que se refere a aspectos relativos ao ensino, quanto aprendizagem e materiais didáticos. As pesquisas abordam formação de professores, da análise de materiais didáticos (particularmente livros didáticos), elaboração e validação de situações de aprendizagem, diagnóstico de concepções de alunos e professores. Pesquisadora e colaboradora do GT12-Ensino de Probabilidade e Estatística, pertencente à Sociedade Brasileira de Educação Matemática - SBEM, desde sua fundação até os dias atuais. Tem experiência na área de Matemática, com ênfase em Educação Matemática, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: ensino-aprendizagem, educação estatística e financeira, formação de professores. livro didático.
