Fernando Gonçalves Ferreira Junior

Doutor em Linguística pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2008) com período sanduíche em Psicolinguística na Universidade de Michigan, Ann Arbor (2006-2007). Meu interesse principal de pesquisa são os processos cognitivos e psicolinguísticos envolvidos na aprendizagem e uso de línguas de uma perspectiva construcionista e emergentista. O desenvolvimento e estruturação da memória semântica e do léxico mental também são objetos de estudo. Sou professor titular do Instituto Federal de Minas Gerais, campus Ouro Preto.

I got a degree in ELT (1995) and a B.A. (1996) in Translation Studies from Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto. I also hold an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2000) and a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2008). From May 2006 to May 2007 I was a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. My research interests are the cognitive and psycholinguistic processes involved in language learning and use within a constructionist and emergentist framework. Further research interests relate to the structuring of our semantic memory and mental lexicon. I am currently Full Professor of English language at the Instituto Federal de Minas Gerais, IFMG, Ouro Preto campus.
