Possui graduação em Psicologia pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1972), mestrado em Administração pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1978), doutorado em processos de decisão estratégicos - University of Bradford (1980) e pós-doutorado em internacionalização de empresas pela University of Cambridge (1992) Fulbrigth alumni. Atualmente é professora da Universidade de Brasília-UnB e professora Emeritus da Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, Holanda. Foi professora titular da UFMG, da University of Birmingham-UK, da Erasmus University-NL e da Universidade Fumec. Fellow do St. John's College, University of Cambridge. Desenvolve pesquisas em gestão internacional de negócios, governança corporativa e co-evolução organizacional. Publica regularmente artigos em reconhecidos periódicos internacionais. Em 2009, obteve o Terry Book Award da Academy of Management por suas contribuições ao desenvolvimento da ciência administrativa. Possui experiência de ensino e pesquisa em várias universidades no exterior como Inglaterra, Holanda, Irlanda do Norte, Escócia, Canadá, China e Portugal. É membro do corpo editorial da Organization Studies, e atualmente co-editora do Journal of International Business Studies - International Responses to Institutional Voids. É membro da Portuguese Science Foundation. É autora, co-autora e organizadora de diversos livros nacionais e internacionais.
Suzana Rodrigues is Emeritus Professor of International Business and Organization at the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University. She is Visiting Professor at Queen?s University Management School, United Kingdom and Professor of Strategy at is FUMEC University, Belo Horizonte, Brazil. She holds a PhD degree in Management Studies from Bradford Management School at the University of Bradford, United Kingdom. Suzana has been nominated the Erasmus Fulbright Scholarship in 2013.
Prior to joining Erasmus University, Suzana was Professor of International Management and Organization at Birmingham University, UK and at UFMG, Brazil. In Brazil Suzana was the founder and Director of the Research Centre in International Business and received several awards for her contribution to advancement of management sciences and education in the country. At Birmingham, Suzana was one of the founders and Director of CIBOR ? Centre for International Business and Organization Research at the University of Birmingham. At Birmingham she was Founder and Director of CIBOR ? Centre of International Business and Organization from 2004-2006. At Erasmus University she was Founder and Director of the Erasmus Centre for Emerging Markets since 2009.
Suzana has developed an expertise in international joint venture. Under the auspices of CNPq, the Brazilian National Science Foundation, Suzana has developed research which compared IJVs in Brazil and China. She was also consultant of the Brazilian Science and Technology and the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding a programme of technical cooperation between Chinese and Brazilian firms. Suzana has published widely on the internationalization of SMEs by Brazilian, British and Indian SMEs. One of her recent papers concern the analysis of control and trust relations in international joint ventures between Taiwanese and Japanese firms.
Her work appears in Human Relations, Journal of International Management, Journal of Management Studies, Management and Organization Review, Management International Review and Organization Studies. The book on Corporate Co-evolution: A Political Perspective, (with John Child) received the Terry Book Award at the 2009 Academy of Management Meeting.
She has thought international business and strategies of international cooperation in several universities, namely, Birmingham University, Queens University, Belfast, Guanghua School of Management and the Judge School of Management at the University of Cambridge.
