The Cyclops Project has been started as a long-term project by Prof. Dr. Aldo von Wangenheim and Prof. Dr. Michael M. Richter at the University of Kaiserslautern in 1992. It aims to develop and transfer into practice new methods, techniques and tools in the field of Medical Image Analysis and Telemedicine using techniques from the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision. In this context, cooperations with german medical and industrial partners have been initiated in 1993. In 1997 it was accepted as a new project on the fourth workshop of the German Brazilian Bilateral Program for Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
