Full Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at UFSC (Federal University of Santa Catarina). Permanent faculty member of the Graduate Program in English and the Graduate Program in Linguistics at the same institution. Holds a Ph.D. in Letters/English and Corresponding Literature (UFSC, 2000). Conducted a doctoral internship at the Department of Linguistics at the University of Minnesota (1998-1999/CAPES), under the supervision of Andrew Cohen. Completed a postdoctoral internship at the Brain Language Lab, Department of Neuroscience, Georgetown University (2008-2009), under the supervision of Michael Ullman. Undertook a senior internship at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics in Nijmegen (2017-2018/CAPES), under the supervision of Peter Hagoort. Was a visiting professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Algarve (2010), with financial support from the Erasmus Mundus Program. Coordinated the Psycholinguistics Working Group (GT de Psicolinguística) of ANPOLL (National Association of Graduate Programs in Letters and Linguistics) from 2016 to 2018. Is a founding member of the National Science for Education Network (Rede Nacional de Ciência para Educação - Rede CpE). Coordinates the Language and Cognitive Processes Laboratory (LabLing), where conducts studies on the interface between language processing, memory systems, and attentional processes using electrophysiological and behavioral methods, including eye tracking. Is a member of the editorial board of the Cambridge Elements in Psycholinguistics series (Cambridge University Press), the Psycholinguistics Working Group (GT de Psicolinguística) of ANPOLL (National Association of Graduate Programs in Letters and Linguistics), and the Psycholinguistics and Neurolinguistics Committee of ABRALIN (Brazilian Linguistics Association).
Professora Titular do Departamento de Língua e Literatura Estrangeiras da UFSC. Docente permanente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Inglês e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Linguística, na mesma instituição. Possui doutorado em Letras /Inglês e Literatura Correspondente (UFSC, 2000). Realizou estágio de doutorado no Departamento de Linguística da Universidade de Minnesota (1998-1999/CAPES), sob supervisão de Andrew Cohen.
