Marcela Miranda
Marcela Miranda is a postdoctoral researcher at Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology- IRTA-Oct/2022 in the Postharvest Program. She recently finished a postdoc period at Sao Paulo University (USP) in viruses? control (Sarcov-2) by photodynamic therapy (USP- 2021-2022). She completed her Ph.D. in Food Science and Nutrition in 2020 at University of Sao Paulo (Unesp), with a one-year doctoral sandwich period in Florida at the USDA- United States Department of Agriculture (USDA-2018-2019). She was 9 years collaborator at Embrapa (Brazilian Government Agricultural Research Corporation) where she was supervised during her scientific initiation, master and PhD. She has experience in the following subjects: teaching natural science and biology in elementary school, post-harvest conservation; nanostructured fruit coatings; incidence of mechanical damage on fruits and food quality; fruit aroma volatiles compounds; post-harvest physiology and physicochemical quality, essential oils and antimicrobial activity. Her current research focus is on the development of edible coatings and biocontrol.
