Vadivel Vellingiri

Dr. V. Vadivel completed Post-Graduation with distinction in Plant Science from Bharathiar University, India in 2003. To pursue his Doctoral research he has availed Project Fellowship from University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India over 2004 - 2007 and also awarded Senior Research Fellowship from Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Government of India for the academic year (2008/2009). Then, immediately after obtaining the Ph.D. degree (Bharathiar University, 2009) the applicant was awarded, in recognition of his scientific work, the world prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Post-Doctoral fellowship from July 2009 to August 2011 to work at the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany. Then he has worked as a Scientific Researcher in the European Commission project at the Universita Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore, Piacenza, Italy, from Nov 2012 to Oct 2013.To his credit, till date he has published 24 research papers in internationally reputed journals with total impact factor of 45.06 with 175 citations. Among the 24 research papers, 18 were first authored and 8 papers were published as corresponding author. Twelve research papers out of 24 were published independently from Ph.D. supervisor. He also published 2 review articles and 4 book chapters on emerging areas of his research.He has actively participated and presented 15 research papers in international and national conferences held at India, Switzerland, and Turkey. He has received 6 best research paper awards for his presentation at research meetings. He also delivered scientific lectures at the University of Karachi, Pakistan in 2010 and Karpagam University, India in 2011. He has awarded Biovision Fellowship from Scientific Foundation of Lyon, France, in association with Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) to participate in 7th World Life Science Forum held at Lyon, France during 27-29 March 2011. He also received Y.P. KALRA Fellowship from Indian Society of Agricultural Biochemists to participate the International Conference Post-Harvest Technology and Value Addition in Cereals, Pulses, and Oilseeds held at C.S. Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur, India during November 27-30, 2006.He is an active member of Association of Food Scientists and Technologists India and Nutritional Society of India and also serving as Editorial Board member in the Journal of IIOAB and involved as an Associate in the Indian Institute of Applied Biotechnology . Further, he has participated 7 training programmes / workshops organized by reputed research institutes in India.
