Siobhan Victoria Healy

Lulu Healy começou sua carreira como pesquisadora no Institute of Education da Universidade de Londres. Veio para o Brasil em 2002 onde trabalhou na Universidade Anhanguera de São Paulo até julho 2017 e foi coordenadora do grupo de pesquisa Tecnologias e Meios de Expressão em Matemática e do programa de pesquisa Rumo a Educação matemática Inclusiva, cujo objetivo é investigar as relações entre experiências sensoriais e cognição matemática e também desenvolver e avaliar cenários de aprendizagem para alunos com e sem deficiências. Atualmente é professora titular da Educação Matemática da universidade King´s College, London. Seu interesse de pesquisa centra-se no emprego de tecnologias digitais para o ensino e para a aprendizagem matemática, em especial no design de formas inovadoras de fazer e expressar a matemática escolar. Tem interesse particular nos desafios associados a proporcionar uma matemática escolar mais inclusiva e na compreensão das práticas matemáticas de aprendizes com deficiências.

Lulu Healy is Professor of Mathematics Education of King´s College London. From 2002 to July 2017, she worked in Brazil, where her last appointment was at the Post-Graduate Programme in Mathematics Education, Anhanguera University of São Paulo. Her work in Brazil followed her first research post in Mathematics Education at the Institute of Education, University of London. Her research interests focus on the use of digital technologies in the teaching and learning of mathematics, and especially on the design of innovative ways of doing and expressing school mathematics. She is particularly interested in the challenges associated with the building of a more inclusive school mathematics and in understanding the mathematical practices of learners with disabilities. She is currently coordinator of the research group Technology and Means for Expressing Mathematics and director of a research programme, Towards an Inclusive School Mathematics, which aims to investigate the relationships between sensory experiences and mathematical cognition and to design and evaluate mathematical learning scenarios for students with and without disabilities.
