Gustavo Medeiros Freitas

Graduated in Control and Automation Engineering by the Federal University of Santa Catarina - UFSC (2006), M.Sc. (2008) and D.Sc. (2014) in Electrical Engineering - Control, Automation and Robotics by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ. Former member of the Discrete Event Systems and Robotics Labs of UFSC, Biological Cybernetics Dept. at Bielefeld University (DE), Robotics Lab of Cenpes - Petrobras S.A., Simulation and Control in Automation and Robotics Group of UFRJ, and Field Robotics Center - Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University (US). Experience in automation and robotics applied to environmental monitoring, agriculture, mining, and oil and gas production systems. Currently, Gustavo is Adjunct Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais - UFMG, and a Collaborating Professor at Vale Institute of Technology.

Possui graduação em Engenharia de Controle e Automação pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina - UFSC (2006), mestrado (2008) e doutorado (2014) em Engenharia Elétrica - Controle, Automação e Robótica pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro UFRJ. Trabalhou nos laboratórios de Sistemas a Eventos Discretos e Robótica da UFSC, Departamento de Biologia Cibernética da Universidade de Bielefeld (Alemanha), Laboratório de Robótica do Cenpes - Petrobras, Grupo de Simulação e Controle em Automação e Robótica da UFRJ, e no Field Robotics Center - Robotics Institute da Carnegie Mellon University (Estados Unidos). Experiência em automação e robótica aplicada à monitoração ambiental, agricultura, mineração e sistemas de produção de óleo e gás. Atualmente é Professor Adjunto na Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), membro dos programas de pós-graduação PPGEE-UFMG e PROFICAM-ITV/UFOP, e também colaborador no Instituto Tecnológico Vale (ITV).
