Bruno Vilhena Adorno

Bruno Vilhena Adorno obteve o título de engenheiro mecatrônico em 2005 e de mestre em engenharia elétrica em 2008, ambos pela Universidade de Brasília, e o título de doutor em sistemas automáticos e microeletrônicos em 2011 pela Universidade de Montpellier (França). Atualmente, é Senior Lecturer in Robotics (equivalente a Professor Associado) vinculado ao Departamento de Engenharia Elétrica e Eletrônica da Universidade de Manchester, no Reino Unido. Foi Professor Associado do Departamento de Engenharia Elétrica da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), onde co-fundou e foi co-líder do grupo de pesquisa Mecatrônica, Controle e Robótica (MACRO). Ele é membro sênior do IEEE, foi bolsista de produtividade em pesquisa do CNPq no triênio (2018-2021) e coordenador do Comitê Técnico de Robótica da Sociedade Brasileira de Automática (2017-2018 e 2019-2020). É autor ou co-autor de 21 artigos em periódicos e 35 em conferências / capítulos de livros. Ele é atualmente editor associado do IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters e do Journal of Control, Automation and Electrical Systems. Seus interesses atuais de pesquisa incluem aspectos práticos e teóricos relacionados à cinemática, dinâmica e controle de robôs, com aplicações a manipuladores móveis, humanóides, sistemas de manipulação cooperativa, interação humano-robô e robótica de assistência.

Bruno Vilhena Adorno received the BSc degree (2005) in Mechatronics Engineering and the MSc degree (2008) in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Brasília (Brazil), and the Ph.D. degree (2011) from the University of Montpellier (France). He is currently a Senior Lecturer in Robotics at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Manchester. Before joining the University of Manchester, he was an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil, where he co-founded and co-led the Mechatronics, Control, and Robotics research group (MACRO). He is also an IEEE Senior Member and was the chair of the Technical Committee on Robotics of the Brazilian Society of Automatics from 2017 to 2020. He has authored or co-authored 20 journal papers and 39 conference papers/book chapters. He is an Associate Editor for the IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters and for the Journal of Control, Automation and Electrical Systems. He also has been serving on the Editorial Board of the RSJ/IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems and the Brazilian Congress of Automatics since 2017 and was the Tutorial/Workshops Chair for the 19th International Conference on Advanced Robotics (ICAR). His current research interests include both practical and theoretical aspects related to robot kinematics, dynamics, and control with applications to mobile manipulators, humanoids, cooperative manipulation systems, and human-robot interaction.
